Not that Halloween is relevant anymore, but in case your interested, here are some pics!
We went to a fall festival in our neighborhood and the kids fed animals, and were trying to put their entire hands into the animals mouths. Eeeeeeek!!!!! The germaphobe inside me freaked out a little, but they were having so much fun!!
On the night of Halloween they helped with carving the pumpkin and we gave them the task of scooping. All I heard for days was "I WANT TO SCOOP PUMPIN!!!!" And for days after I was finding whole pumpkin seeds in my dogs poo :D
We only went trick or treating to a few neighbors homes as Halloween was on a school night this year, but it was so much fun now that the boys are older. Caspian kept trying to go inside our neighbors homes LOL! I mean, that is what is noramlly done after ringing the doorbell, so he was totally confused as to why he couldn't go inside :)
We are off to Neverland!!!! Peter Pan, Captain Hook (or Captain Cook according to Valentino) Tinkerbell and John and Wendy Darling!!!!!
And we also have Tiger Lilly, The crocodile and the mermaid!!!
I have obsessive halloween disorder and I make everyone dress in themed costumes every year. My husband gets SO embarrassed but I tell him it's for the kids (just kidding, it's really just for my obsession).
My kids are obsessed with fire trucks and firemen, especially after having our hotel catch on fire on our vacation. They think it's the coolest thing!!!! They were SO EXCITED to go inside a fire engine, and they pretty much attacked all the firefighters pulling at their gear, buckling their belts and touching their hats. They are too funny.
We went to the boys's school fall festival and we also went to see some farm animals at Frying Pan Park. We went on a wagon ride pulled by horses and Caspian was just a tiny bit worried at first but then he loved it and kept non stop talking about it for the next few days.
Happy Halloween everyone! This year we had a fun and busy few weeks. We attended all kinds of Halloween and Fall festival events.
Can you guess what we were?
Dr. Seuss characters! The kids were thing 1 and thing 2. I was also thing 1 and thing 2 (my unborn baby was thing 2) and hubby was the cat in the hat! My sister Sara was the grinch, and my mom was the goldfish.
I'm kind of a Halloween nut. I got hubby to decorate the outside of our house, and the kids were crazy about it. Valentino loves his pumpkins. He points at each and every single one and says "bumpkin" over and over again. Caspian likes to bite on the pumpkins, so we have to keep them away from him.
The kids's school and our neighborhood both had Halloween events. The kids were over the moon and had tons of fun. Our neighborhood event had farm animals, pony rides, bouncy castles and the works!
So we also had a little family get together and ate cake and carved pumpkins!
Can you tell I love glitter??
I love watching hubby as he concentrates. Check out his and my sisters faces..... this is some serious stuff! so funny.
Wishing you all a very safe and happy halloween!
This year we celebrated Caspian's first Halloween, and Valentino's second Halloween. Last year I was pregnant and exhausted for Halloween, so we didn't even have a pumpkin! We hardly did anything! I felt so bad, so this year I over compensated. I went slightly overboard. No big deal.
We had a small family gathering and some neighbors over. It was so much fun!
Guess what we were?.........
There's no place like home......
My husband and I have been on a Ketogenic diet for months, so we decided to break it for one day and have a "carb day" where we get to eat anything and everything we want. What better day to have carb day than on Halloween?
So of course I went all out and killed myself with pizza, wine, candy, cakes, cupcakes and macaroons. Tomorrow I anticipate feeling very ill and having big regrets.
This year for Halloween I kind of checked out. Being in my last trimester of pregnancy along with taking care of a baby makes things difficult. During the second semester I had all these grand plans for Valentino's first Halloween.... like getting him multiple costumes, having photo shoots, taking him all around the neighborhood trick or treating, decorating pumpkins with him, going to the pumpkin patch, etc.
Then came along third trimester and all that prevailed was my desire to sleep.
We didn't even have a pumpkin outside our house! I felt really bad about that, so I compensated by giving all the neighborhood kids a TON of candy. I pretty much threw candy at everyone. I had to do this because otherwise I would eat all the leftover candy, feel sick, and then get gestational diabetes.
I did manage to get Valentino a costume and take him trick or treating just to our neighbors houses. He was the cutest pumpkin. Although I didn't let him eat any of his candy, for the entire night he carried around a butterfinger bar and absolutely refused to give it to me.
How cute is he??
