It was a wonderful Christmas Eve. We baked cookies and decorated them, made reindeer food and watched Peppa Pig's Christmas special. They put Santa's cookies that they had just decorated by the fireplace, and then we took the boys outside so they can choose a spot to leave the reindeer food. They quickly chose a spot and then they went nuts over the Christmas lights in the front of our house, running back and forth and in circles, screaming chasing each other and laughing loudly. Then hubby joins them and starts jumping up and down and running around the driveway like a 5 year old.....all the while I'm standing there freezing my behind off and taking pictures of their shenanigans. Kids become amused so easily!
They were exhausted and even got to sleep way past their bedtime.....7:30 instead of 7. Then GUESS WHAT you guys......SANTA came!!!!!!! And he left all these presents, because I apparently have good little boys and a girl.
They woke up on Christmas morning amazed at the site of all those presents. They opened them all and helped baby open hers too....and then it literally looked like Christmas exploded in my house. And then I cried a little just at the thought of cleaning up all that mess.....
We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We did something fun almost every single day! But boy am I exhausted now that it's over. This Christmas was special because it was the first one that Persephone experienced. Last year she was in my tummy and causing me all sorts of issues, that troublemaker! This year I had so much more energy so I filled the kids days with activities, and every night we would go for a drive and look at the christmas lights up in our neighborhood. The kids had a blast. Why is it that toddlers will look everywhere BUT the camera? When I tell them to sit still and look at the camera, suddenly they feel the urge to do kung fu, wack their sibling in the face, start dancing and even turn the opposite way. They are so silly.
Till next year.
Not that Halloween is relevant anymore, but in case your interested, here are some pics!
We went to a fall festival in our neighborhood and the kids fed animals, and were trying to put their entire hands into the animals mouths. Eeeeeeek!!!!! The germaphobe inside me freaked out a little, but they were having so much fun!!
On the night of Halloween they helped with carving the pumpkin and we gave them the task of scooping. All I heard for days was "I WANT TO SCOOP PUMPIN!!!!" And for days after I was finding whole pumpkin seeds in my dogs poo :D
We only went trick or treating to a few neighbors homes as Halloween was on a school night this year, but it was so much fun now that the boys are older. Caspian kept trying to go inside our neighbors homes LOL! I mean, that is what is noramlly done after ringing the doorbell, so he was totally confused as to why he couldn't go inside :)
We are off to Neverland!!!! Peter Pan, Captain Hook (or Captain Cook according to Valentino) Tinkerbell and John and Wendy Darling!!!!!
And we also have Tiger Lilly, The crocodile and the mermaid!!!
I have obsessive halloween disorder and I make everyone dress in themed costumes every year. My husband gets SO embarrassed but I tell him it's for the kids (just kidding, it's really just for my obsession).
My kids are obsessed with fire trucks and firemen, especially after having our hotel catch on fire on our vacation. They think it's the coolest thing!!!! They were SO EXCITED to go inside a fire engine, and they pretty much attacked all the firefighters pulling at their gear, buckling their belts and touching their hats. They are too funny.
We went to the boys's school fall festival and we also went to see some farm animals at Frying Pan Park. We went on a wagon ride pulled by horses and Caspian was just a tiny bit worried at first but then he loved it and kept non stop talking about it for the next few days.
Happy fourth of July! I am so lucky to live in such an amazing country with so many freedoms and opportunities.
We had a fun filled weekend with the toddlers, and attended a neighborhood pool party where the DJ was uncle Sam. The last time I attended a pool party was years ago to see Afrojack in Vegas with hubby when he was just my boyfriend. We thought we were so cool. My life has definitely taken a 180 since then!
So my two year old, Caspian, had a mini temper tantrum at the pool party. I think the loud music and crowd didn't help, and so he had a little time out in the corner. We are big on discipline and consequences for bad behavior. We both ignored him while he was just sitting there angry in time out, and I had to bite my tongue not to laugh at his adorable angry little face. He later realized the error in his ways and politely came and joined the rest of the family.
Later that night during baby's last feeding for the night, we noticed fireworks at the front of our house, with a perfect view from baby's window. This was super exciting for us because we didn't live in our current home last fourth of July, and I thought we would have to miss watching them this year because the kids's bedtime is 7:30. How pleasantly surprised was I to get a perfect view! Hubby then joined and all three of us cuddled with baby by her window and watched the fireworks together. She wasn't impressed, but me and hubby just loved it and it was so magical and it was the perfect ending to the day.
